Psynergy recruits innovative nutritionist specializing in food science
November 2, 2020 - After an extensive search for the right fit, Psynergy Programs is pleased to announce the addition of Sofia Marsetti to its management team. In her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from Pontifica Universidad Católica del Ecuador in South America, Marsetti focused on nutritional science, medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, food science, food production and management of food service operations, chemistry and physiology, plus a variety of supporting coursework in related disciplines.
Since coming to California from Ecuador, Marsetti has been pursuing a Master’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition and Metabolism at California State University, Long Beach.
“We are very pleased to have Sofia Marsetti join our team at Psynergy,” says founding partner Jean Edwards. “Her use of the latest scientific research, tools and methods can put us light years ahead in pursuit of nutrition as a component of wellness. We’ve always championed the idea of ‘food as medicine.’ Sofia’s expertise will help us codify that platform and put it into practice,” she continued.
In addition to guiding food choices and preparation methods for Psynergy’s four properties, Marsetti will produce regular installments on Psynergy’s website blog devoted to nutrition and recipes. She hopes to defuse the myths that focus on food deprivation and juicing as the only way to eat healthy. By focusing on each person’s needs, she hopes to help each person embrace the concept that what we are is a product of how we eat and how we treat ourselves.
