Lynda Kaufmann Named Corporate Chair, NAMIWalks

Lynda Kaufmann, NAMIWalks Corporate Chair, Northern CA

February 26, 2020 - Psynergy’s Lynda Kaufmann has been named NAMIWalk’s Northern California Corporate Chair for 2020.  Kaufmann is the director of government and public affairs for Psynergy Programs, and is a passionate supporter of NAMIWalk’s mission of advocacy, support and public awareness of mental health issues.

“I am proud to be this year’s Corporate Chair because I believe in mental health support for all,” says Kaufmann. “Support for family members, support for individuals diagnosed with a mental illness, support for board and care facilities, support for providers and advocates.  I speak to hundreds of family members every year, and I always direct them to their local NAMI affiliate. I am confident NAMI will answer their questions, and that they will be listened to with empathy and be given relevant information,” she continued.

According to colleagues at Psynergy Programs, Kaufmann is often found on the cutting edge of advocacy for mental health issues.

“We are very proud to see Lynda Kaufmann once again recognized by the mental health community in California,” says Jean Edwards, chief communications officer.  “I know she will do an outstanding job for NAMI in chairing this year’s event, which is the nation’s largest series of mental health awareness and fundraising events.”

Support for mental health awareness is vitally important in the community. According to NAMI, one in five adults experience mental illness each year in the U.S., and one in six youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder.

The NAMIWalk for Northern California will be held Saturday, May 2 at William Land Park, Village Green, in Sacramento, CA. The distance is 5K with one and two-mile options. To register or donate, visit http://www.namiwalks.org/northerncalifornia
