Respite Care
Family members and other caregivers need time off from their caregiving responsibilities to reduce stress and prevent burnout. Encouraging and supportive caregiving depends on meeting the caregiver's own needs for support, reassurance, education and periodic respite. Although there are different approaches to respite care, all have the same basic objective—to provide caregivers with planned temporary, intermittent, substitute care, allowing for relief from the daily responsibilities of caring for the care recipient. Frequently caregivers temporarily share their caregiving responsibilities with us while they take a break, vacation, timeout or even to tryout our services.
Psynergy respite care is available to individuals with mental illness living in the community that are stable and may need a brief stay due to caretaker or other family members needing temporary relief assistance. We provide transportation to medical/clinical appointments; brief solution focused therapy as needed; individualized care planning; and clean, safe homelike environments. Stays are billed at a weekly rate.
