Psynergy Programs to sponsor NAMIWalks 2017

Walkers get ready for the 2017 NAMIWalks event.

April 24, 2017 - Psynergy Programs is proud to be a Silver Sponsor for the 2017 NorCal NAMIWalks, supporting five county partnerships in Amador, Calaveras, Solano, San Joaquin and Yolo counties. The 5K Walk will be held Saturday, May 6 at 1950 Sutterville Rd, Sacramento, CA 95822. Registration starts at 8:00 AM, and the Walk begins at 9:00.

Sponsorships benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) an organization that increases awareness of mental illness, works to reduce stigma, and raises funds for services to families and clients. Peer support groups and In Our Own Voice presentations are some of the activities that NAMI promotes. Psynergy Programs has been a sponsor of many Walks throughout California since opening the Morgan Hill facility in 2004.

“One benefit we offer to our clients is that we pay for their NAMI membership while they reside in our program,” says Lynda Kaufmann, Psynergy’s director of government and public affairs. “They can choose to be a member of their home county chapter, or the county they reside in with us: Monterey, Santa Clara, or Sacramento. We hope to integrate NAMI into more of our programs in the future.”

Kaufmann currently serves on the NAMI Santa Cruz Advisory Board.
