Our leadership group has more than 65 years of collective experience in the mental health field, and share a passion for making a difference in the lives of clients and their families.
Christopher Zubiate, MSW, ACSW, Chief Executive Officer
Christopher Zubiate brings a wealth of professional experience, knowledge, and energy to mental health policy, administration and practice. His unique background as a Native American social worker continues to inform his clinical practice, research and program development. Before founding Psynergy Programs Inc, Chris worked with community-based agencies, hospitals, and the California Institute for Mental Health managing nine mental health hospitals and a $30 million budget. Chris has chaired several administrative bodies, and conducted workshops, seminars and trainings in the areas of health and mental health at local, national and international conferences. He has written and presented topics on culturally competent research design and culturally relevant mental health service delivery as well as HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment with ethnic communities. He currently provides clinical services to Native American individuals and families living in Northern California, and serves a liason to the Indian Health Service for the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Michael Weinstein, Chief Financial Officer
As Administrator of Residential Programs, Michael Weinstein has worked for over ten years with individuals experiencing mental distress. It is his responsibility to set the tone for the facility and the mutual expectations for residents, staff, and family members. Taking a hospitality management focus as well as a clinical one, he has specialized in improving the lives of high-need individuals who desire more than basic services. Michael has also worked extensively with populations that need residential solutions to ensure that they can truly benefit from the mental health services they receive. These distinct populations include programs for young adults, the elderly, and those who have been institutionalized for ten or more years. With a commitment to individuals who are candidates for less restrictive care, he has helped design, implement, and manage unique answers for some of the most vulnerable individuals in the mental health system. Michael Weinstein understands the challenges and rewards of creating a homelike atmosphere where both clients and staff are treated with understanding, respect, patience and dignity.
Arturo Uribe, MSW, LCSW, Chief Operations Officer
Arturo Uribe recently joined Psynergy Programs as our Chief Operations Officer.
For nearly six years, Arturo supervised an intensive case management team responsible for helping move clients into the least restrictive placement. Arturo Uribe has a proven track record of managing high-cost clinical resources and supporting community integration for clients previously residing in higher levels of care such as state hospitals, acute inpatient settings, and locked institutions. For the last 22 years, Arturo has been assisting, serving and advocating for individuals and their families in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. He has provided a wide range of services from case management, individual, couples and family therapy for people experiencing mental and emotional distress. Arturo has worked in community organizations, government agencies and school settings, always with the goal of providing better access to higher quality services. At Psynergy Programs, Arturo supervises the training of new Interns and Associates, to ensure consistency in treatment and client care. Arturo is a long-time resident of the Bay Area, enjoys deep-sea fishing and is an active advocate for the Latino community.
Jean Edwards, Chief Communications Officer
A businesswoman with over 40 years experience in advertising, marketing and communications, Jean Edwards has successfully completed projects for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Her extensive marketing background has helped develop income stream for many new start-up projects. Prior to working with Psynergy Programs, Jean conducted marketing workshops, seminars and training for companies in a wide variety of industries. Jean's energy and marketing expertise has helped Psynergy Programs communicate the vision of Together Achieving More to a wider audience.
